Before the first shingle

Most roofs fail in the layers nobody sees. A new roof is only as good as the deck, the membranes and the flashing underneath it, so that is where we spend our time. Scroll to watch one go on.

The roof system

Seven layers. No shortcuts.

  1. 01

    Solid deck

We pull up any soft or delaminated sheathing and replace it, so every nail bites into solid wood.

    7/16" OSB · H-clips
  2. 02

    Drip edge

Metal edge along the eaves and rakes sends water into the gutter instead of rotting the fascia.

    Galvanized steel
  3. 03

    Ice & water shield

A self-sealing membrane at every spot water collects. It closes tight around each nail that goes through it.

    Eaves · valleys · penetrations
  4. 04

    Synthetic underlayment

A tear-resistant second barrier over the whole deck, lapped so water always runs over a seam and never into it.

    4" side laps
  5. 05

    Starter course

A sealed starter strip locks the first row of shingles down so wind can't get under the edge.

    Factory-sealed edge
  6. 06

    Architectural shingles

Laminated shingles hand-nailed six to a shingle, the high-wind pattern, on every roof we install.

    6-nail pattern · 130 mph
  7. 07

    Ridge vent & cap

A ridge vent lets the attic exhale heat and moisture, finished with thick cap shingles along the peak.

    Continuous ventilation

They found two sheets of rotted decking the last company shingled right over. Showed me photos, fixed it, and still finished in two days.
Marisol T.Elk Grove · Roof replacement
Our standing seam roof looks incredible. The crew lead texted us a photo update at lunch every day.
Dan & Priya K.Folsom · Metal roof
They met my adjuster on the roof and got the full replacement approved. I paid my deductible and that was it.
Greg H.Roseville · Hail claim
Called on a Sunday with water coming through the ceiling. Tarp was on by Monday morning and the repair was done that Thursday.
Lena W.Carmichael · Leak repair
Cleanest job site I have seen. They ran a magnet over the whole yard twice and found nothing the next day either.
Tom R.Rocklin · Roof replacement
Fair price, clear written estimate, no pressure. The new TPO roof dropped our upstairs temperature noticeably.
Angela M.Sacramento · Flat roof
Seamless gutters were formed right in the driveway. Done in a morning and they matched the trim perfectly.
Chris B.El Dorado Hills · Gutters
Honest. They told me my roof had five good years left and didn't try to sell me one. Guess who I'm calling in five years.
Yolanda P.Citrus Heights · Inspection
We wanted a fire-rated roof after the last fire season. The crew walked us through every option and the metal roof went on in four days.
Brandon L.El Dorado Hills · Metal roof
Our tile was fine but the paper under it was shot. They lifted every tile, re-laid it on new underlayment and you can't tell anyone was there.
Sue & Mark D.Granite Bay · Tile re-lay
Got three quotes. Halverson was the only one who went into the attic first. Price was fair and the job was done when they said it would be.
Hector A.Natomas · Roof replacement
A few cracked tiles after a windstorm in Lincoln Hills. They matched them perfectly and checked the whole roof while they were up there.
Priscilla N.Lincoln · Tile repair
Our 1970s flat roof finally stopped ponding. They explained the tapered insulation in plain English and the upstairs is cooler now.
Raj S.Davis · Flat roof
Signed up for the twice-a-year plan. The moss on our north side is gone and they send photos after every visit.

Questions

Straight answers.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most homes take one to three days from tear-off to cleanup. Tile, metal and very steep roofs can take longer. We give you the schedule in writing before we start.

Will my homeowner's insurance pay for a new roof?

If the damage came from a covered event like hail or wind, it often does. We inspect for free, document the damage with photos and drone footage, and meet your adjuster on the roof.

What warranty do I get?

Two. The manufacturer's material warranty, which runs up to 50 years on many systems, and our own 25-year workmanship warranty covering the installation itself.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We work with third-party lenders that offer monthly payment plans for qualified homeowners. Ask your estimator for the current options.

Do I need to be home during the install?

No. We do need access to an outdoor outlet and a clear driveway. Your crew lead sends photo updates during the day and walks the finished job with you.
